ANXO Sighting #4: Basque Cider & Wine Dinner

Monday, October 5, 2015, 5:30pm – 11:30pm

CIDER DINNER

Feast on a five course dinner designed by Chefs Brad Walker and Alex Vallcorba with beverage pairings by Beverage Director Tim Prendergast of ANXO Cidery & Pintxos Bar. You'll kick the evening off with a welcome glass of Basque wine and pintxos.

AUTHENTIC BASQUE CUISINE

Chefs Walker and Vallcorba honor the Basque culinary traditions of honesty, simplicity, and quality by showcasing local producers’ best efforts. Enjoy three meat and seafood-heavy courses of Basque and Catalan-inspired creations each paired with a glass of wine and cider.

FINAL COURSE FUN

This won't be your typical dinner. For the final course, enjoy a flight of three ciders from Bordatto in French Basque Country expertly paired by Beverage Director Tim Prendergast with a selection of three cheeses and house-made accouterments.

UNIQUE BEVERAGE PAIRINGS

All beverage selections will come from De Maison Imports. De Maison works with some of the bar's favorite and most inspired producers in Pays Basque, Pais Vasco and the rest of Northern Spain. Their portfolio boasts distinctive ciders and wines, making them the perfect partner for this exclusive pairing dinner featuring both cider and wine.

Drinking With Basquatch

September 25, 2015, 5:30pm – 11:30pm

A celebration of fine cider

ANXO, DC's first cidery and pintxos bar opening in Truxton Circle in late 2015, has now held two seated cider pairing dinners to introduce diners to the concept, each selling out in under two days. For the third ANXO Sighting, we welcome guests to join us for a more casual event: Drinking with Basquatch, a celebration of fine cider. This event is taking the place of 'Grilling with Basquatch', which was scheduled for September 12th.

ANXO will bring to Colony Club an expertly curated selection of more than 20 ciders from North America, England, France and Spain. From both draft and bottle, the majority of ciders will be available by the glass and a la carte, along with a selection of pintxos from Chefs Brad Walker and Alex Vallcorba available until midnight. For more substantial fare, Chef Walker will be grilling steak, seafood and vegetables on the patio while supplies last. The ANXO beverage team will also be pouring Asturian and Basque ciders on the patio.

This event is 21+, and open to the public. No tickets are required.

Cider Pairing Dinner at Boundary Road

Monday, August 17, 2015

ANXO presents diners with a taste of what's to come at ANXO Sighting No. 2, a four-course dinner event at Boundary Road on Monday, August 17th, 2015. This follows July's first ANXO Sighting event at the Dolcezza Gelato Factory, which sold out in less than two days.

The night will begin with a pintxos hour with assorted fare such as Gilda (olive, guindilla pepper and anchovy) and Peperonata, all offered with a welcome cocktail and unlimited Basque and Austurian cider pours.

The four-course family-style menu features items such as Mixed Lamb Barbecue with Sausages and Charred Greens, and Olive Oil Poached Lobster Mushroom with Great Northern Beans. Each course is paired with a different cider. As ANXO works with local farmers, fishermen, ranchers and of course mother nature, all ingredients are subject to availability and reality.

Tickets are $85 per person, all-inclusive of all food, beverage, tax and tip.
